One man is pronounced dead after crashing his box truck into a semi truck on Highway 43, Feb. 2, 2010. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 43 and Pond Road in Bakersfield, CA.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) is conducting a full investigation to determine exactly what happened. Reports indicate that the driver of the box truck failed to stop in time to avoid hitting a semi truck that had gotten stuck in the middle of the intersection of Pond Road and Highway 43 when trying to make a left turn.
The driver of the box truck died immediately at the scene. CHP hopes to determine how fast the box truck was traveling at the time of the collision. According to reports, poor weather conditions have been ruled out as a direct cause of the truck accident.
